How to Pick the Perfect Company Name
(Or, How We Totally Nailed It... Almost)
So, you’re about to start a company. You’ve got big dreams, brilliant ideas (or questionable ones, like us), and now all you need is the perfect name. Easy, right? WRONG. Let us tell you how we mastered this process—kinda.
Step 1: Brainstorm Genius Ideas (We Thought We Had It)
We spent hours—no, days—crafting the perfect company name. We wanted something clever, something that screamed “this is a bad idea, but also brilliant in its own way.” After extensive creative sessions (mostly fueled by coffee and questionable life choices), we landed on the perfect name: Notsobrightideas.
It was quirky, it was funny, and best of all, it was available. So, like any responsible future tycoons, we immediately rushed to register the domain: notsobrightideas.com. Nailed it, right? 🏆
Step 2: Register the Domain (Success! Right?)
With the domain in hand, we were on cloud nine. Visions of terrible business and marketing advice flowing freely to the masses danced in our heads. We were ready to take over the world—or at least Twitter.
Which brings us to…
Step 3: Realize You’ve Made a Terrible Mistake (Oops.)
Turns out, Twitter has a pesky little rule that limits handles to 15 characters. That’s right, folks—Notsobrightideas has 16 characters. ONE over the limit! 😱 We couldn’t even fit our own name into our Twitter handle. Not so bright, indeed.
Step 4: Cry a Little, Then Laugh About It (Because, What Else?)
After a brief moment of shock and panic, we embraced the irony. I mean, we did name ourselves Notsobrightideas—it’s only fitting that we made a not-so-bright decision ourselves. Lesson learned: Count your characters before you leap into social media stardom.
Final Thoughts: Do As We Say, Not As We Do
Picking the perfect company name is all fun and games until you realize it’s too long for a Twitter handle. So, if you want to avoid our fate, here’s our advice:
1. Make it short.
2. Make it memorable.
3. Make sure it fits into social media limits, because that stuff matters.
In the end, we’re sticking with Notsobrightideas—it’s who we are, and honestly, the irony is too good. But, you know, maybe give your name a character count before you hit “register.” ✌️
Hope that gave you a chuckle! Now go forth, and name responsibly.
